Why morning is the ideal time for dry brushing

Some mornings, your body takes longer to kick into gear - even after a full night’s sleep. Low energy, heavy legs, dull-looking skin? Your lymphatic system may need a gentle boost.

That’s where dry brushing comes in. Done in the morning, before your shower and on dry skin, it helps jump-start your system. Its benefits:

  • Stimulates lymphatic circulation
  • Helps reduce water retention
  • Boosts oxygen flow to the tissues

The result: a sense of lightness throughout your body, smoother-looking skin, and renewed energy. A quiet, intentional moment for yourself, before the day begins.

How to choose the right brush for effective dry brushing

Dry brushing is only as effective as the tool you use. Choosing a high-quality body brush is essential. The Altesse Studio Vitalis Body Brush, developed in partnership with Emmanuelle and Rebecca Trévalinet, therapists and founders of the Trévalinet Method, was designed with this exact purpose in mind:

  • 100% boar bristles - white for normal skin, black for the body brush for sensitive skin - to stimulate without irritation
  • A unique bristle arrangement developed to deliver the perfect level of pressure with every stroke. Designed to stimulate both surface and deeper lymphatic flow.
  • An olive wood handle that fits naturally in the palm of your hand, ensuring a smooth, effortless glide - even at 7 a.m.

A refined balance of heritage and innovation, created to enrich your daily self-care ritual.

How to master lymphatic dry brushing in just 5 minutes

Emmanuelle and Rebecca Trévalinet created a bespoke dry brushing routine for Altesse Studio, designed specifically for the Vitalis Brush, in four simple steps:

  • Start by activating your lymph nodes (collarbones, underarms, lower abdomen, groin, and behind the knees) using light circular movements, five times on each spot.
  • Move up the legs, from the soles of the feet to the groin, with gradual upward strokes. Then sweep over the entire leg, always moving upward from bottom to top.
  • Focus on your abdomen in two areas: the lower abdomen with horizontal strokes toward the groin, and the upper abdomen with vertical strokes toward the underarms.
  • Lastly, focus on your arms, brushing from the hands up to the shoulders. Begin with horizontal strokes across the hands toward the forearms, then use long, upward strokes along the entire arm.

Altesse Studio expert tip: drink a large glass of lemon water right after brushing to help support the body’s natural detoxifying process.

No need to wake up earlier or rethink your entire routine - this quick, streamlined method fits effortlessly between getting up and stepping into the shower.
