Isabelle: The Sensitivity of Matter

Brush-making is a personal craft: everyone has their own way of fitting the brush head onto the olive wood handle, with a level of skill and precision that can only be acquired through years of experience. For Isabelle, olive wood remains the most beautiful of materials: noble, nearly indestructible, and unique in its grain.

Véronique, Guardian of the Prestige Craft

For the Prestige Collection, Véronique hand-tufts each brush entirely by hand. Tuft by tuft, using nylon thread and no glue. This single step alone takes between 45 minutes and an hour per brush. She is one of the last artisans in France to have mastered this technique. It is an exceptional craft based on a traditional technique that has remained unchanged since 1875.

Jean-Jacques, the cornerstone of the transmission
