ALTESSE STUDIO & Co
ALTESSE STUDIO is the parent brand, reflecting our expertise as brushmakers since 1875, and offers you its 2 collections:
- ALTESSE BEAUTÉ : a top-of-the-range collection, comprising 5 products of unrivalled quality, to suit all needs and hair types.
- ALTESSE PRESTIGE : a luxury collection 100% handmade, repairable for life, manufactured in small quantities. Exceptional quality, handed down from generation to generation thanks to the quality of the materials used and the way the hair is stacked to suit all hair types.
We were already making the best brushes on the market on our own behalf or for big names in the hairdressing and beauty world, but we went one step further by innovating our tufting method and selecting the best raw materials.
For our care brushes, we've found a tufting method that guarantees 100% wild boar brushes for all hair types, even the thickest, with a massaging action on all scalps and the hair benefits of using wild boar bristles when brushing.
No more need for nylon tips to massage the scalp or penetrate even the densest hair: boar bristles can now do it all!
This maximizes hair care performance, since it's the boar bristles, rather than the nylon fibers, that pick up and distribute the natural oils .
For our detangling brushes, we found an innovative, biosourced fiber that we bundled with a technique enabling "magical" detangling, since it combines "softness and efficiency, for precise, painless, breakage-free detangling.
There are 4 important factors in the price of our
brushes:
They are 100% made in France according to a know-how dating back to 1875 by craftsmen who excel in their fields of expertise. All our brushes require many stages of entirely manual manufacture, precision and expertise.
We also use first-rate raw materials: the best quality boar bristles and an olive wood handle crafted entirely in our own joinery by our craftsmen.
The longevity of your brush: a brush of this quality will take care of your hair for at least 15 to 20 years for the BEAUTÉ collection, or even a lifetime and several lifetimes for the PRESTIGE collection, which can be repaired for life!
The manufacturing method: the difference in price between the BEAUTÉ and PRESTIGE collections is due to the unique canning method of the PRESTIGE collection. drilling, drilling and piling are entirely done by hand as in the 19th century, which makes them so exceptional and rare; these brushes also benefit from a lifetime warranty thanks to our repair service, which will take care of your brush and restore it to its original condition even after decades of use.
WILD BOAR HAIR
Wild boar have always been bred and killed for their meat. Their skin is then dehaired for use in the leather industry. The bristles were initially destined to be thrown away, so an upcycling circuit was created to supply this raw material to brush manufacturers (hair, household, clothing, etc.).

THE WOOD
No!
The wood in our sleeves comes from trunks felled by olive growers when they are too old to produce olives.
The trees are between 50 and 100 years old, which is what makes this type of wood so rare.
When we shape our sleeves from sawdust and wood offcuts, we give a second life to this waste in the spirit of a rational manufacturing process.
Wood offcuts are distributed to staff for use as firewood.
Sawdust and wood shavings are recovered and given to a local farmer who uses them as a soil improver for his orchard, returning the wood to the soil.
