Each of our hairbrushes is crafted with precision and passion in our workshops in France — made to suit every hair type, every ritual, and every moment of your daily routine.
Our Petite size (19 cm, 7 rows of bristles on a 5 cm head) offers the ideal brushing experience for short to medium-length hair. Compact and travel-friendly, it slips easily into a gym bag or carry-on. Its ergonomic grip and gentle feel make it the perfect beauty companion on the go — without compromising on performance.
Our Classic size (20.5 cm, 11 rows of bristles on a 6.2 cm head) truly shines on long to very long hair. Its generous contact surface allows for quicker brushing and optimal distribution of natural scalp oils from root to tip — leaving hair deeply nourished, shiny, and strengthened.
And for children? Our Petite size is the perfect choice. Lightweight and easy to handle, it’s an excellent way to introduce little ones to gentle brushing rituals. Like all our hairbrushes, it detangles without pulling or breaking — respecting delicate, fine hair. A daily care gesture that becomes a true moment of bonding.
Yes, each of our brushes is designed to enhance all hair types — turning a daily gesture into a true beauty ritual.
Heirs to a French brushmaking tradition passed down since 1875, we create brushes that respond precisely to the specific needs of each hair type. The secret lies in our carefully selected materials and the way we work them: our first-cut boar bristles , naturally rich in keratin, work in harmony with your hair to reveal its natural beauty.
Our handcrafted tufting technique reduces static electricity and offers a delicate massage of the scalp, stimulating blood circulation to promote healthy growth. Each brush stroke becomes a moment for you, a moment of well-being where hair care takes on its full meaning.
Our brushes for fine to medium hair provide volume and vitality without aggression. For thick hair, they gently tame while distributing natural oils from root to tip. As for our brushes for curly hair, they redefine waves and curls with respect, preserving their structure while adding shine and suppleness.
Whatever your hair type, there’s a brush made for you.
With Altesse Studio, you’re not just choosing a beauty accessory — you’re embracing a long-lasting care companion.
It’s a sustainable investment in the health and beauty of your hair, whatever its nature.

Absolutely.
Our hairbrushes are also designed to tame the static electricity that can turn your hair into a daily challenge.
The secret lies in our blend of noble materials and artisanal techniques refined over generations.
Our olive wood handles act as natural insulators, limiting the buildup of static charges that cause frizz.
First-cut boar bristles, naturally rich in keratin, help distribute your hair’s natural oils all the way to the ends — protecting the hair fiber and preventing the dreaded static effect
Choosing one of our hairbrushes means turning every gesture into a ritual. At Altesse Studio, each model is crafted with a clear purpose — the result of know-how passed down since 1875.
Our Round Hairbrush — the Art of Movement The ideal blow-dry companion, it shapes the hair with control and precision. Its cylindrical shape creates just the right amount of tension during drying: our brushing hairbrush lifts the roots, adds bounce to the ends, or sculpts perfectly defined curls. As heat and tension work together, the cuticles are sealed — revealing a mirror-like shine along the lengths. That’s the secret behind the trending glass hair effect.
The Flat Hairbrush — Where Care Meets Control Designed for daily use, it smooths, detangles, and nourishes in a single gesture. Its broad surface gently follows the scalp, stimulating microcirculation while distributing natural oils from roots to ends. Thanks to our exclusive bristle-setting technique, each stroke detangles without pulling or breakage.
Our quest for excellence has remained the same since 1875. Every brush that leaves our workshop in the Thérain Valley, the cradle of French brushmaking , has passed through the expert hands of our craftsmen. They perpetuate a know-how that has been enriched over time: precise gestures, an intimate knowledge of materials, and that eye that lets nothing slip by.
We rigorously select our raw materials. It's a choice that's far from insignificant, guaranteeing not only the performance of our brushes, but also their exceptional longevity.
In fact, this may be our greatest pride: creating objects that stand the test of time.
Our Prestige hairbrushes even come with a lifetime guarantee and can be repaired if needed — a rare service today, but one we consider essential.
Olive wood is one of the finest and most durable materials available for making brushes. And that’s why we use it! Each handle is carved from a solid block of this uniquely grained wood and crafted by the skilled woodworkers in our workshops.
What else does this wood offer for your hair? As a natural insulator, olive wood limits the buildup of static electricity responsible for frizz and puffiness. Unlike plastic or resin handles, it does not generate static electricity when it comes into contact with your hair.
Oiled with linseed oil by our artisans, the wooden handles of our hairbrushes are perfectly protected from daily wear and tear, making them heirlooms that last for generations. That’s why Altesse Studio brushesStudio brushes for a lifetime.
Note: The wood used for our hairbrushes is not FSC-certified, as this certification simply does not apply to it. Olive trees are cultivated for their olives in olive farming. They do not grow in forests and are not planted for their wood. Their use in brushmaking a natural,
use of an existing material. A deeply sustainable choice, by its very nature.
"First-cut bristles" is the term we traditionally use to describe the bristles harvested from the base of a wild boar's back. They are the densest, longest, and richest in keratin. They are also the rarest. In short, it’s the best quality for your hair. This is the hair we select for each of our brushes, harvested using animal-friendly practices, with guaranteed traceability and responsible sourcing.
Why boar bristles
are better for hair? A fibrous structure that traps natural oils than sliding over them. Where a plastic, wooden, or nylon bristle passes through without redistributing anything, first-cut boar bristles capture the natural oils at the root and distribute them evenly all the way to the ends. The hair shaft is nourished and protected. Hair becomes less frizzy, more supple, softer, and shinier. Soft yet firm, these bristles penetrate all hair densities and thicknesses, from the finest to the thickest. Beyond the quality of the bristles, it is also the way they are crafted that makes all the difference.
Our artisans use traditional techniques, passed down from the 19th century, to hand-tuft the bristles into the brush heads. This artisanal process ensures their durability over time and a proven, effective n the hair.
The Altesse Studio hairbrushes come in two sizes. Our goal is to offer the best brushing experience to thousands of people
- The small model measures 19 cm in length, with a 5 cm wide head composed of 7 rows of natural fibers. Compact and ergonomic, it’s ideal for short to medium-length hair, travel, or a quick touch-up. Its light weight also makes it an excellent tool for gently teaching children how to brush their hair.
- The classic size 20.5 cm in length, with a 6.2 cm-wide head composed of 11 rows of bristles. Its large contact surface allows for faster brushing and optimal distribution of the scalp’s natural oils all the way to the ends (ideal for long to very long hair).
Please note that the 100% handmade brush from the Prestige Collection, as well as our styling brush, are available only in a small size (19 cm x 5 cm).
The brushes in our Beauté collection are exceptional pieces, crafted in our workshops in Picardy.
- It all begins in the woodworking shop: with the cutting of olive wood, followed by the shaping of the blocks to form the handle.
- Shaping, sanding, and hand-oiling with linseed oil complete the creation. Each handle is sculpted to reveal an elegant design with unique grain, crafted to fit perfectly in the palm of the hand.
- Next comes the manufacture of the heads: the bristles in bundles and the natural latex pads are assembled. A piston mechanically implants the fibers.
- Each head is then meticulously inspected one by one to verify the absence of hollow pins and to mark them if necessary.
- Assembly: the heads are then glued onto the handles.
- Each brush is then inspected, adjusted, and finally placed in its recycled plastic case.
A reflection of our artisans’ dedication, expertise, and passion. Brush by brush, without exception.
Yes, and that’s one of the features our customers love most. Our small brushes (19 cm long, with a 5 cm-wide head) are designed to accompany you wherever you go. They slip easily into a handbag, gym bag, or carry-on suitcase without taking up much space, so you can enjoy their benefits and Studio expertise wherever you are.
And unlike traditional travel brushes, which often compromise on quality
, the compact Altesse Studio modelStudio compromises: boar bristles for styling brushes or nylon fibers for detangling brushes, an ergonomic olive wood handle, and an anti-static natural latex pad… The result is brushes tailored to your hair, revealing its natural beauty, anywhere and at any time.
Note: the 100% handmade brush from the Prestige Collection, as well as our styling brush, are available only in the small size, for a travel routine that always embodies excellence.
Hard water leaves mineral deposits on the hair shaft, causing it to look dull, feel heavier, and become drier over time—a hidden but very real challenge in daily hair-
.
Regular brushing with our boar bristle care brushes can naturally help counteract the effects of hard water. With each stroke, the bristles lift sebum produced at the root and distribute it along the entire length of the hair, helping to nourish the hair shaft and create a natural protective barrier that promotes shine and softness while helping to reduce mineral buildup.
Our olive wood handle, a natural insulator, also helps reduce the static electricity that hard water so often amplifies.
The 5-minute ritual: 4 sets of 25 brush strokes, morning and evening, from roots to ends. Designed to promote optimal sebum distribution and natural protection, day after day.
Yes. Synthetic or plastic-tipped brushes weaken the hair fiber over time. Our first-cut boar bristle brushes do the opposite, providing lasting, visible care for your hair.
How? Their fibrous structure, naturally rich in keratin, closely resembles that of the hair fiber itself. With every stroke, they lift sebum produced at the root and distribute it evenly through the lengths and ends. Hair feels nourished and protected, naturally, without the need for added product.
The results are proven. In a February 2022 RS Développement study of 50 consumers, following 4 weeks of morning and evening use:
- 92% of users reported shinier hair,
- 87% observed better sebum distribution.
This goes beyond a simple promise. It’s a care ritual that delivers results over time, stroke by stroke.
