Naturally more fragile, wavy or curly hair requires special attention. The main problems with this type of hair are breakage, dehydration and curls which lack “bounce” and elasticity. Whether it's our care brushes, our detangling brushes, or our 100% handmade brush from the Altesse Prestige Collection, all of our brushes provide unique benefits to wavy and curly hair. They ensure better detangling, brushing, and definition for all types of waves and curls (as detailed in the André Walker chart). From 2A (wavy, very light hair that can be straightened quickly) to 4C (frizzy hair, with tight Z-shaped curls), our brushes can help reveal the natural beauty of your wavy or curly hair. Their secret? They evenly distribute sebum, hydrating the hair from root to tip, while gently detangling without breaking curls. By using them regularly, they can reduce frizz, improve shine, and keep curls defined and vibrant.
To proudly show off your natural hair and enhance your waves or curls with your Altesse Studio brush, make sure to adopt a routine that respects your hair’s particular texture.
- To detangle: lightly dampen the hair with water (or a moisturizing spray), divide the lengths into sections and gently detangle from the ends towards the roots. This will prevent breaking the curls. This method preserves and defines natural waves.
- Routine brushing: generally, curly hair does not really need brushing more than once per week (unless after washing). As for wavy hair, you can brush it once a day or every 2 days to tame any frizz.
- To amplify curls, use the “scrunching” technique: gently press your hair from bottom to top with the palm of your hand (after brushing).
