Enhance your curls with our Altesse Studio hairbrushes

The main problems with this type of hair: breakage, dehydration and curls lacking "bounce" and elasticity.

Naturally more fragile, wavy or curly hair requires special attention.

Whether it's our care brushes, detangling brushes or our 100% handmade brush from the Prestige Collection, all our brushes bring unique benefits to wavy and curly hair. They are guaranteed to better detangle, brush and define all types of waves and curls defined by the André Walker grid. This grid refers to the hair type classification system created by African-American hairstylist André Walker. This system divides hair into four main types, numbered 1 to 4, according to texture:

Type 1: Straight hair (Subdivided into 1A, 1B and 1C according to hair thickness)

Type 2: Wavy hair (Subdivided into 2A, 2B and 2C according to wave definition)

Type 3: Curly hair (Subdivided into 3A, 3B and 3C according to curl size and tension)

Type 4: Frizzy hair (Subdivided into 4A, 4B and 4C according to hair shape and density)

From 2A (wavy, very light hair that can straighten quickly) to 4C (frizzy hair, very tight Z-shaped curls), our Altesse Studio brushes reveal the full beauty of your wavy or curly hair.

Brushing: the best way to taking care of your hair

Care brushing with your 100% boar bristles hairbrush

To get the most out of your Altesse Studio hairbrush, adopt the right brushing technique. Start by tilting your head forward and brushing gently from the nape of your neck to the crown of your head. This movement stimulates the scalp and adds volume to the roots. Then straighten and brush gently from the roots to the ends to smooth and shine.

The art of detangling: a delicate technique

To make the detangling process easier, adopt the Altesse Studio method:

  1. Start with the ends: gradually work your way up to the roots, holding your hair at mid-length to avoid tension on the scalp.
  2. Use gentle, even strokes: divide your hair into sections for methodical detangling. Patience is the key to successful detangling. Take your time and let the quality of our brushes do the work gently.

BRUSHING: HOW ALTESSE STUDIO HAIRBRUSHES TAKE CARE OF YOUR CURLS AND WAVES?

To proudly show off your natural hair and enhance your waves or curls with your Altesse Studio hairbrush, make sure to adopt a routine that respects your hair’s particular texture.

  1. To detangle: lightly dampen hair with water (or a moisturizing spray), divide lengths into sections and gently detangle from ends to roots to avoid breaking curls. This method preserves and defines natural waves.
  2. Care brushing: curly hair needs no more than one (real) brushing a week (or after washing). Wavy hair can be brushed once a day or every 2 days to tame frizz.

To amplify curls, use the scrunching technique: gently press your hair up and down with the palm of your hand after brushing.
