No matter how much you straighten or style your hair, nothing helps: despite your anti-frizz routine, there are always those unruly strands that just won't go away. But frizz doesn't happen by accident, and there are solutions to tame it. Here's how.

Why do we get frizz?

Frizz has two main causes: lack of moisture and humidity. Instead of being interlocked, the scales covering the fiber of dry hair are very open. They no longer play their protective barrier role properly. This porosity makes hair not only permeable to humidity, but also more vulnerable to external aggression. As hair absorbs moisture, it swells. This is when frizz appears. Textured hair (curly and frizzy) is by nature drier and more porous than straight hair. It is therefore more prone to frizz.

Discipline your hair with a brush made of boar bristles

It's the anti-frizz secret of beautiful, smooth, shiny hair. The boar bristles brush works wonders on frizz-prone hair. This is thanks to the fibrous structure of boar bristles, which are the only ones capable of capturing natural oils at the roots and distributing it evenly to the ends. Performed morning and night, this gesture moisturizes the hair fiber and flattens the cuticle to smooth hair and control flyaways. In fact, boar bristles Altesse Studio care brushes have proven their worth, with 94% of our users saying they smooth hair and reduce frizz. Bonus: stronger, shinier hair every time you brush.

Tame frizz with a disciplining hair care product

In addition to styling with a brush at boar bristles, you can discipline your hair with specific anti-frizz treatments. But not just any care! For optimum respect of the hair fiber, we prefer natural products such as piqui vegetable oil. Its powers? Highly nourishing, it softens hair, restores lightness and helps maintain moisture. This makes it an invaluable ally for styling frothy, frizzy hair.

Sleeping on a silk pillowcase: the anti-frizz tip for hair that's tamed in the morning

Silk has unsuspected virtues for keeping hair soft and silky, but above all for preventing frizz.

  • It's a very smooth material, which reduces mechanical friction between hair and pillow. As a result, there's less frizz, but also less breakage and tangling when you jump out of bed.
  • Unlike cotton or other textile materials, silk is non-absorbent. In other words, it doesn't absorb hair's natural oils. So it preserves moisture overnight (and does the same for the skin!).

Silk reduces the phenomenon of statistical electricity, often responsible for frizz. In the morning, hair remains smooth and better disciplined.
