Detangling or conditioning, fine to medium hair or thick or curly hair, there's an Altesse Studio brush for you!
Dry body brushing is the ultimate secret for stimulating circulation, promoting detoxification and awakening vital energy. But how do you use a lymphatic drainage brush for the body? What protocol should you follow to tame this ancestral gesture? Follow the guide.
When should you use your body brush?
Ideally, and for optimum effects on lymphatic function and immune cell circulation, dry body brushing should be carried out every day or at least three times a week.
● Morning: to awaken circulation, boost energy and prevent water retention.
● In the evening: to eliminate toxins and accumulated tension, and promote relaxation.
How to properly dry-brush the body?
Dry brushing is performed before showering, on dry skin, without oil or cream. This holistic ritual comes into its own when practiced with an exceptional accessory.
Your best ally: our new Altesse Studio Body Brush, co-created with the founders of the Trévalinet Method. Made in France, it's a guarantee of performance and brushmaking expertise handed down through six generations.
Always remember to apply firm but comfortable pressure to your body brush. If you feel a slight warmth and redness, don't panic: it's simply a sign that your blood circulation is well activated.
How to use your body brush properly
A fusion of various lymphatic drainage techniques, including Renata Franca, Vodder and Kobido, coupled with traditional Chinese acupressure, the Trévalinet Method is the one chosen by Altesse Studio to reveal all the benefits of brushing for the body.
Step 1: Stimulation of lymph nodes
As a reminder, lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped filtering centers , essential for the proper functioning of the immune system. Their role? To help eliminate toxins, cellular waste and pathogens from the lymphatic fluid.
Stimulating the lymph nodes before dry brushing is essential to "wake up" the lymphatic system and prepare the body to better circulate lymph during brushing.
To do this, begin by gently massaging the 5 main lymph nodes, 5 times each, using small, gentle circular movements or repeated light pressure with your fingers or the tip of your brush:
● in the hollow of the clavicle,
● below the armpits,
● next to the pelvic bones, below the belly,
● in the groin, at the base of the thigh,
● behind the knees.
Step 2: Dry-brushing the legs
Start with the sole of the foot, then brush the top of the foot, the ankle and up the calf. Then move on to the knee, brushing the sides backwards, then the thigh, using upward strokes all the way to the groin. Finish by holding the brush vertically and sweeping the whole leg, from foot to groin, front and back.
Step 3: Dry belly brushing
To dry-brush the stomach, divide it into two areas: above and below the navel. First, brush the lower part horizontally, from top to bottom and towards the iliac nodes. Next, hold the brush vertically and brush the upper part on either side, moving upwards towards the armpits.
.
Step 4: Dry brushing the arms
Start horizontally, gently brushing the top and bottom of the hand, then move up the forearm, front and back. Continue from elbow to shoulder, using long strokes. Finish by holding the brush vertically, brushing the whole arm from hand to shoulder.
